Important CAMP Information

Hi all!

We are just a week out from camp!  Hard to believe, huh!?  I want to put all the relevant information here for you to review and complete.  Here is what I would like for you to do:

  1. Click this link: http://fuge2013.s3.amazonaws.com/RCC_CF.pdf  This will open the camp prep pdf.
  2. Thoroughly read through this packet.  It will take you a few minutes, but it will be worth it for you to do so.  Some of it is specific for me and other leaders.  You can kind of skip through that.
  3. Print and fill out the FUGE release form (last page, 18).  Notice that you will need to have a NOTARY witness sign and stamp the document as well.
  4. Sit down with your student(s) and go over the what to bring/what not to bring, dress code, etc.  We will do this, too, but I think it is always good to have parental participation in this as well.
  5. Also discuss with your student(s) what track they want to sign up for.  You will find that list on page 10.  They will need to come up with a list of their 3 top choices.  I would like for us to be ready to answer that upon our arrival on Thursday.
  6. Email or call me with any questions or concerns you may have.

We will plan to meet at the church on Thursday (6/20) at 9:45am.  We want to leave no later than 10, so please be on time.  We will stop for lunch on the way to camp, so your student will need some money for a fast food stop.

We will return home on Monday (6/24) hopefully between 3:30 and 4pm.  As always, we will have students call when we are on our way to give you an ETA.  Your student will need a little bit of money for a fast food stop on the way home on Monday, as well.

Finally, please discuss technology with your student.  I advise that none be brought.  Camp is a good place to lose things and also for things to become a distraction.  I and the other leaders (Thomas and Katie) will have our cell phones on us and on at all times.  If you need to contact your student you can call us at any time.  If you choose for your student to bring a cell phone, it will not be allowed to be on his/her person while we are participating in camp activities (refer to the itinerary on page 9).  This means that only early in the morning, during free (hang) time and after all activities are finished at night will cell phones be allowed to be used.  Cameras are allowed, but will be taken if they become a distraction.  ABSOLUTELY NO OTHER TECHNOLOGY will be allowed.  This means no ipods, mp3's, gaming devices, etc...These will be taken at first sight and returned upon our arrival home on Monday.

If you have not paid your final balance for camp, please do so asap.  The church has already paid our total balance and needs to be reimbursed.  If this is a problem, please see me so we can work something out.

I am looking forward to taking our students to camp again!  It has been several years since we have been and I think our group will have a good time and benefit from the experience.  Thank you for your cooperation in these matters and please be in expectant prayer that this time will be a watermark for our group and individual students in their spiritual journey.
