Some student pastors in the area have been talking about ways for the various student ministries in our county to have more interaction together through fellowship and worship. We have all decided to try to get together from time to time at various churches and with various people leading. I think this is a great idea because it helps our students understand that all the churches in our area are not competing against one another. We are all on the same side, worshiping and serving the same Savior in the same work. For this reason, I would really like to urge all of our students to be involved in this.
Our first such service will be held on Wednesday, February 20th. It will take place at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church at 6pm. Mt. Harmony's student praise band will lead in worship, and I have been asked to be the speaker. There will be pizza for the students to eat.
As you well know, I have a passion for our Life Groups, and normally do not try to put anything on a night where it might interrupt that time. However, I still would like for all of our students to attend this service together. They will be few and far between, so students who normally attend small groups (and I and our leaders) will not miss too many Life Group meetings.
